The surgery is open from 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and until 1:30pm on Fridays. We are located at 295 Macquarie Street, Hobart. Parking is available in Macquarie Street or around the corner in Warneford Sreet, in one or two hourly non-metered spaces. There is no parking on-site.
Fees are payable on the day of your consultation unless otherwise advised. Your first initial consultation is charged at $175 with a Medicare rebate of $72.75. Cosmetic consultations are charged at $225 with no rebate claimable from Medicare. Subsequent visits charged at a lesser amount and will depend on the nature and length of the visit - the rebate for these visits is $36.55. Our staff are very happy to provide further information and fee estimates if you should require it. We are also able to lodge your claim online immediately for the rebate if you have registered your bank details with Medicare.
We have Eftpos and credit card (MasterCard and Visa only) facilities for the payment of fees and also accept cash or cheque. Veterans affairs patients should bring the relevant card with them.
Estimates of costs for hospital admissions will be discussed and provided in detail at the time of booking your operation should that be required.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your referral is current and is received by our practice preferably before your appointment. When you receive your referral please contact our rooms for an appointment. Referrals from your GP last 12 months or 3 months if you have been referred by another specialist. If you do not have a current referral you will be unable to claim the applicable Medicare rebate for your visit.
When you come to your appointment please bring with you your Medicare, Private Health card and Pensions card and your referral letter(if not already sent) and also the completed Patient information sheet that we have sent out to you to complete. Please also bring any relevant X-rays and Ultrasounds and results of any other tests or investigations that may have had done.
We do everything we can to ensure minimal waiting time when you come to your appointment. However because of the nature of our work, sometimes there are unavoidable delays. We do apologise for any inconvenience and ask that, in turn, you inform us if you feel you might require extra consulting time.
